PROJECT DESCRIPTION
We met with the owners of this home and created a quick budget based on the permit plans by The Kastrop Group. We started construction after producing a detailed budget. Unanticipated structural changes could have caused major delays, but for Bill’s proactive and knowledgeable work with the engineer and the San Carlos Building Department. The final project cost ended up being 3% less than the first quick budget!
The architectural plans were subject to architectural review to ensure that the character of the building was maintained. Most of the original windows were retained and required skilled refinishing by our painter. This photo shows a window part of the way through the extensive preparation process.
The next pages show preparation for framing and foundation work, and photos of the kitchen.
The owners were delighted with their new home, as reflected in a note that we received, shown below.
