SHINGLE STYLE VICTORIAN

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Prior to the inception of H&H, Julia managed the construction of this 5,000 square foot home with studio and basement.  She identified resources and provided cost comparisons for the selection of a wide variety of period-inspired hand-crafted finishes.

The exterior included whimsical Chinese slate roofing and natural-finished cedar shingles in several patterns.
Artists created custom artwork at the fireplace surround, stove backsplash, and basement lightwell.

The project included a state-of-the-art energy management system in conjunction with extensive millwork set off by wide plank cherry floors. The property included many heritage oak trees, which Julia had to consider in the design of a subsurface drainage system.  Upon the owners’ request, Julia sourced Sierra granite for the entry stairs and landscape boulders.
